Edsbyn Bandy, a club with a rich history in the sport of bandy, has found a new and creative way to engage and fundraise.
With a webshop on Tradera that reaches out to supporters both in Sweden and internationally, Edsbyn Bandy has expanded its reach and strengthened its brand.
“Through Tradera, we have been able to reach out to our supporters wherever they are. It has opened up completely new opportunities for us,” says Clas Blom, Chairman of Edsbyn Bandy.
The money raised from the auctions is used in different ways.
In some cases it goes to charity, and in others to fund new jerseys for the youth teams or organize activities for children that would otherwise not have been possible within the club’s budget.
This really shows the club’s commitment to both sport and social responsibility.
Before using Tradera, Edsbyn Bandy had tried other sales avenues such as local flea markets and social media, but eventually realized that Tradera offers a larger and more accessible marketplace.
“Tradera makes it possible for all our supporters to participate, no matter where they are,” Blom explains.
For the future, the club plans to auction off more unique items from their ‘stash’, which they believe will generate great enthusiasm among supporters.
In terms of the user experience on Tradera, the simplicity and efficiency of the platform has been impressive. Blom also shares some tips for others who want to succeed on Tradera: “It’s about thinking strategically about when to close auctions, in relation to paydays and matchdays.
In addition, it is important to set a good asking price to engage as many people as possible.”
Through Tradera, Edsbyn Bandy has not only strengthened its finances but also built a stronger community with its supporters, which is an important part of the club’s success both on and off the field.
